Culinary enthusiasts and lovers of fine dining will be happy to hear that Mozambik has fully opened its doors to Margate and South Coast locals alike.
Boasting traditional Portuguese dishes, the theme and menu are inspired by the Afro-Porto fusion cuisine of Mozambique.
The brand’s dynamic evolution has led to its current positioning, and is built around customer experience to offer the taste of escape.
Mozambik not only delivers high quality and tasty cuisine, it provides an exceptional atmosphere and high service levels.

Ensuring that all your needs are tended to by the onsite staff is restaurant operator Phatokuhle ‘DJ’ Buthelezi.
Boasting almost 10 years experience in the restaurant industry, DJ is originally from Clermont in Durban, but currently lives in Gamalakhe.
“I worked as a waiter for six years, before I was promoted to head waiter, a position I held for two years at a different chain,” he said. Interestingly enough, he earned the name DJ as he used to be a deejay in his spare time, and the nickname stuck as people struggled to pronounce his real name.

Over at the coffee bar you will find the in-house barista, Patrick Mbuthuma. Boasting six years of experience, Patrick who is originally from Gcilima, channelled his passion and love for coffee into a career.
“I trained in Joburg to become a professional barista, and since then I have never looked back,” he said. When he is not serving customers a cup of their favourite hot beverage, Patrick can be found watching Kaizer Chiefs, Barcelona or Manchester City on his days off.

Meanwhile on the open floor, be sure to look out for friendly waitress Dineo Msulwa of Manaba. Also boasting almost six years of experience, not only is Dineo well experienced, she also holds an N6 qualification in hospitality and catering.
“On finishing my studies in 2018, I then completed my 18 months in-service training, before eventually finding a home here,” she said. Not only qualified in hospitality, she is also an enthusiastic baker who enjoys baking wedding and birthday cakes along with pastries and other baked goods.
