The Ford EcoSport has been the unrivalled leader in the compact sport utility vehicle (SUV) segment since its launch, and Ford has given it an additional dose of style and personality with the introduction of the limited-edition EcoSport.
Based on the popular, value-oriented EcoSport Ambiente 1.5 auto, the EcoSport Black as its name suggests, has several dark-hued feature enhancements that give it a more distinctive and dynamic appearance.
Ford South Africa said the EcoSport is an important part of its product portfolio, satisfying the needs of a wide range of customers, from active individuals to young families that appreciate the space and versatility it offers.
The EcoSport Black has been given a sportier and exclusive character that will appeal to customers seeking a stylish vehicle that has bold and unique personality.
Although the EcoSport is a familiar on South Africa roads, it’s Black stands out from the compact SUV crowd thanks to the front grille and skid plate being finished in black.
The theme continues on the bonnet too with a bold black decal insert on the upper section of the hood that matches the painted black roof. Integrated black roof rails add both sporting flair and practicality to the package.
The vehicle is dominated by stylish 16-inch black alloy wheels that replaces the 15-inch steel rims with wheel trims on the standard EcoSport Ambiente. This is complemented by black side decals and mirror caps, while the rear of the vehicle features a black spare wheel cover as standard.
The EcoSport Black is powered by Ford’s sprightly 1.5-litre three cylinder petrol engine that delivers 91KW of power matched to 151Nm of torque. It is mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox that is equally at home in bustling city traffic, as it is on the open road.
Based on the EcoSport Ambiente, the new EcoSport Black has an impressive level of standard comfort, convenience and safety features. On the safety front, this vehicle is equipped with six airbags (dual front, side and curtain airbags) and dual ISOFIX child-seat mounting points in the rear seats.
Its active safety features include ABS brakes, emergency brake assist (EBA) and electronic stability control (ESC) with traction control.
All EcoSport models come standard with Ford Protect, comprising a four-year 120 000km comprehensive warranty, three-year/unlimited distance roadside assistance and five year/unlimited km corrosion warranty. Optional service or maintenance plans are available.
