Two new oncologists welcomed

Dr Lomon Rautenbanch of Netcare Margate welcomed the two doctors and hoped for a great future.

Netcare Margate Hospital has partnered with Dr Nontokozo Gina and Dr Qhamisa Mbalo who are the first full-time oncologists on the South Coast.

The duo will be offering therapy to cancer patients.

Mbalo said that cancer patients cannot be treated in isolation, and therefore, they partnered with Netcare Margate Hospital.

“Our patients will need treatment, so we will now be offering in-patient chemotherapy.”

Dr Lomon Rautenbanch of Netcare Margate welcomed the two doctors at a launch at BMW Shelly Beach recently.

BMW’s Corporate Sales Manager, Payal Ramlall, said the word cancer is a dreaded one, but the fear becomes real only when cancer touches either yourself or those close to you.

She said with South Coast Oncology now based here, it means ease of access to treatment for locals while being supported by a strong team of specialists that can aid in early detection and prevention.

“On behalf of my team at BMW Shelly Beach, together with Netcare Margate, we would like to officially welcome both doctors.”

Welcoming the new doctors are (from left) Dr Albert van Jaarsveld, Dr Zelda Smook, Elmarie Janssen, Dr Marlize Potgieter, Payal Ramlall and Neolin Naidoo.
