Make every drive more fun in a Toyota Corolla Cross
You get more kilometres out of a single tank of petrol as well as being more environmentally friendly in the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid HEV XR.
My recent test vehicle was the new Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid HEV XR, and what a fantastic and memorable journey it was, not only for me, but for my 82-year-old mum as well.
So, for the past four months, I have been driving various test vehicles and taking them home. My mother has been in every one, and has been enjoying our drives, whether it’s shopping, taking her to a doctor’s appointment, or visiting family.
So, on the second day after receiving the Corolla Cross Hybrid she said: “It’s such an unusual colour. What colour is it?” I said: Let’s ask Google. “Who’s Google,” she asked.
Never mind mum, let’s take a drive in this desert gold Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid. So off we went to Oribi Gorge, adventuring through the mountainous areas. “It’s been many years since I’ve been here and it’s beautiful, “she said.
Seated in the front she cautioned me all the time, but she felt safe. Our drive was delightful, comfortable and the perfect ride height to look out.
The Corolla Cross offers impressive fuel economy which makes it perfect for everyday use, no matter where you head to. Inside, it’s comfortable and the leather seats make it even more stylish.
For complete driver control, the Cross is equipped with MacPherson strut front suspension and a torsion beam at the rear for sure-footed handling and extra load-carrying ability. This SUV is comfortable both on-road and off-road, offering you the choice of either a petrol or hybrid engine.
The 12.3” multi-information display, complete with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto connectivity and three USB-C ports, makes for an unequalled driving experience every time you get behind the wheel.
Furthermore, it’s a dual-engine powerhouse that combines petrol and electric well to create incredible performance, responsiveness and efficiency. This means that you get more kilometres out of a single tank of petrol as well as being more environmentally-friendly with less CO2 emitted.
As hybrid technology automatically manages the outputs of the petrol engine and electric motor to optimise efficiency, this model has an average fuel consumption of 4.3L/100km.
