Travel in style in a Hyundai Alcazar

The 7-seater boasts top-tier safety features, decent fuel economy and tech that makes everyday driving fun.

The all-new Hyundai Alcazar, one of my recent test vehicles, boasts a striking exterior and was certainly fun and pleasant to drive.

The 7 seater, 1.5D Elite version has premium features and the colour – abyss black knight matte – turned heads. Yes, the abyss black knight is one of several colour options, with other choices being atlas white, fiery red and starry night.

The Alcazar comes with options of a 2.0-litre petrol engine or a 1.5-litre diesel engine, depending on the trim, and offers various features such as a panoramic sunroof, six airbags and a choice of manual or automatic transmission.

The powerful engine delivers 85kW and 250Nm of torque. Something I found interesting was the traction control modes which allows you to adapt to multiple driving conditions, while drive mode select lets you choose your experience, ensuring you are able to navigate rough roads and challenging terrains with confidence and ease.

Inside, the Alcazar is bold, spacious, comfortable and designed to indulge your senses. These include ventilated front seats, eight-way power driver and passenger seat, front row seatback table with IT device holder and retractable cup-holder, ambient lighting, memory seats with welcome retract, front seats with wireless charger and trendy horizontal aircon vents. I was amazed with all the tech.

It is fitted with 18-inch alloy wheels, perfect for cornering bends. Its dark chrome radiator grille design adds perfection and the quad beam LED headlamps technology pierces the night with clarity.

Adding a touch of futuristic flair, I liked the horizon LED lamps and H-shaped DRLs which run along the front, while rear horizon LED lamps grace the back. The bold design and muscular stance means that the Alcazar is ready for any adventure, be it alone or with the family.

The Alcazar is designed with your safety in mind. It is equipped with six airbags offering all-round protection, an electric parking brake with auto hold for effortless stops, and advanced lane keeping assistance.
It’s a perfect family vehicle for those who want a little more.
