UPDATE: Leisure Bay cash-in-transit vehicle came under fire from 6 armed men

The driver was shot in the leg.

The driver and crew in yesterday’s cash in transit heist vehicle found themselves under fire from six armed men who were travelling in one vehicle.

Colonel Robert Netshiunda said when the cash truck finally came to a standstill (in Fisherman’s Drive on the N2 at Leisure Bay), the driver was shot on the leg and his crew allegedly forced out of the vehicle before the suspects blew up the cash truck.

He said the armed men fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

Port Edward police are investigating a case of cash-in-transit robbery.
