Four M26 live hand grenades were discovered at an abandoned property in Ramsgate last Thursday.
Saps Ugu District Corporate Communication said the grenades were removed by members of the Saps Explosive Unit and then safely detonated.
The scene was revisited the following day by police, including members of Margate Detectives, Search and Rescue, Tactical Response team and Explosive Unit and no further explosives were found.
