A vital tip-off from the public led to the arrest of a man (26), who was found to be in possession of dagga last Saturday.
The man was travelling from Louisiana to Port Shepstone CBD when the taxi he was in was stopped in Nelson Mandela Drive.
Port Shepstone police searched the man’s suitcase and found the dagga.
He was taken to his residence in Louisiana, where at least 23 bags of dagga were found, valued at R58 000.
He was arrested and is expected to appear in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court.
Station Commander at Saps Port Shepstone, Brigadier Nonhlanhla Dlamuka, appealed to communities to continue reporting criminal activities, such as drug dealing and illegal firearms, to the police.
“Fighting and preventing crime is everyone’s business,” she said.
