Drug smuggling to prisoner foiled

The suspect will appear in the Scottburgh Magistrate's Court.

Scottburgh police arrested a 28-year-old man on Sunday after he was caught trying to smuggle drugs to a prisoner.

A policeman who was conducting a search on visitors became suspicious when he found the man carrying instant porridge.

When the sealed porridge was opened, police found several pieces of rock cocaine, mandrax tablets, Xanax tablets and one slope of dagga.

The man now faces charges of possession of drugs and will appear in the Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court soon.
