Crime

Be careful of fraudster police officers

The public must be aware of these fraudsters who make false promises to persons desperate for employment or victims who are entitled to free services rendered by Saps.

Fraudster police officials are calling victims of crime, especially in sexual assault cases, and requesting payment in order for Saps to arrest the suspect.

The Saps Ugu Communications District office said that under no circumstances must the public make a payment. Saps does not request payment for investigations and the arrest of suspects.

Further to that, Saps does not request payment for any job opportunities/recruitment in advertised posts or to fast-track an application.
