Suspects nabbed for stripping bark off trees in Scottburgh

The individuals were seen walking in and out of the forest with white bags.

The Gladiator Security Services operations team made arrests after several men were found cutting bark from indigenous trees.

It is believed that on July 25, the security team received a notification from a concerned resident residing at Ellingham Estate.

Two white bakkies with approximately six suspects were seen parked off.

The individuals were seen walking in and out of the forest with white bags.

On further investigation, it was found that the individuals were cutting bark from the indigenous trees located in the estate.

They were arrested, and their vehicles were impounded at Scottburgh Saps.

The roleplayers (Gladiator, Ezemvelo KZN and Umzinto K9) have been applauded by the local community.
