St Faiths cops intercept vehicle, seize weapons

The matter is being dealt with at the Umzumbe Magistrate’s Court.

Swift action by members of Saps St Faiths led to the recovery of firearms, ammunition and several cellphones after a vehicle chase last Thursday.

Police received information about a white double cab, without registration plates, travelling from Oshabeni towards St Faiths.

Officers mobilised immediately and managed to intercept the vehicle in the Magugu area.

Inside, police recovered two blank guns, a revolver and at least eight live rounds of ammunition. Various cellphones, suspected to have been stolen during a recent business robbery in Oshabeni, were also confiscated.

The recovered items have been booked as exhibits while investigations continue.

The matter is being dealt with at the Umzumbe Magistrate’s Court.
