Harding police recently arrested a 44-year-old man for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
The man was arrested in Mthintanyoni under Ward 1 in KwaSantombe after information was received about the illegal firearm.
In a statement, police said an identified residence was searched, where a 7.65 pistol was recovered.
“The serial number had been filed off, and seven rounds of ammunition had been hidden under a mattress. The suspect was charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. He appeared in the Harding Magistrate’s Court,” said police.
