Dylan Spiers (27) was found guilty and sentenced to two years’ imprisonment for theft at the Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court.
According to police, Spiers stole R3300 from a pool table in Umkomaas on the evening of July 13.
He was arrested and appeared in court until his sentencing on July 30.
Acting station commander Lt Colonel Sanelisiwe Friedah Nkomo commended Detective Constable Damien Charles Chinappen and Constable S Sewsunker for their investigation.
