Family still searching for missing Lihle Kahla of Umtentweni

The 23-year-old was last seen near the Port Shepstone Country Club on September 21 at about 19:00.

The family of Lihle Kahla (23) miss her deeply and just want her to come home.
Her sister, Anita, said Lihle means everything to her and that the family is traumatised by her disappearance.

“I made sure she enjoys life to the fullest. I pray she comes back home so we can create more memories together,” said Anita.

Anita described her sister as bubbly and full of life.

“She loved God and church. We pray God is protecting her wherever she is, and we believe He will rescue her,” she added.

Lihle went missing in Port Shepstone on Sunday evening, September 21, and has not been seen since then.
Anita said it’s like her sister has disappeared from the face of the earth.

Lihle, who lives in Umtentweni, was supposed to return home but never arrived. She was last seen near the Port Shepstone Country Club at about 19:00, after crossing the bridge to visit shops in town.

Her sister said Lihle had first walked to Abingdon Spar in Tweni, but it was closed.

“She then decided to walk to town as it was just a short distance away. Two people later spotted her on her way back to Umtentweni – and they were the last known to have seen her. Her phone was switched off later that evening at about 22:00,” explained Anita.

Since her disappearance, family and friends have searched tirelessly – combing through bushes, the golf course, the railway line, the beach, and surrounding areas – but no trace of her has been found. They have even travelled to Durban to put up posters.

At the time she went missing, Lihle was wearing red shorts and a navy golf T-shirt with white stripes on the shoulders.
