Cash in transit near Hibberdene, motorists urged to avoid area

Law enforcement is at the scene.

The N2 near Hibberdene has been closed as a result of a cash in transit heist this evening (June 18).

Reports indicate that a vehicle was bombed and multiple shots fired at the scene.

Cash has been taken and one guard has sustained injuries.

Saps members, local security companies and ambulances are at the scene and monitoring the situation.

Locals were also spotted trying to pick up cash lying around at the crime scene.
