In a proactive move to intensify the fight against crime, Umkomaas Saps and the local community policing forum (CPF) hosted a stakeholder engagement meeting on September 9.

Social partners and security structures came together to dissect prevailing crime trends, review operational progress, and map out a collective strategy to secure the area.

Central to the discussions was the evaluation of remarkable progress achieved through existing collaborative structures.

Umkomaas CPF and Saps commended the contributions of localised sub-forums, dedicated street patrollers, and private security structures whose visible policing efforts continue to act as a force multiplier for law enforcement.

To create a unified front against criminal elements, the meeting focused heavily on strengthening these existing ties while actively encouraging the formation of new partnerships within the community.

The engagement saw active participation and strategic input from a diverse group of key stakeholders including community safety representatives, Safer Cities delegates, the security cluster, the local business forum and traditional leadership.

Umkomaas CPF and Saps emphasized that public safety is a shared responsibility.
