Report abuse, says Port Edward Saps

The police aim to build trust with the community.

Gender-based violence and femicide awareness was the focus of a campaign held by Port Edward Saps in the town recently.

The police’s social crime prevention team partnered with Community Safety and Liaison, Lifeline, GP and Misalink Security, as well as the Ugu District CPF, Cogta and other stakeholders.

The campaign, which included a march, took place mostly in the CBD.

The purpose was to educate the community, encourage reporting of abuse, and engender trust and transparency with the police.
