Prayer held for lives lost in Mtwalume

The aim is to make the prayer an annual one.

The Women of Mtwalume Organisation recently held a prayer meeting, to pray for the many lives lost in the area in 2022.

Many of the people who were found dead in the area were women who were brutally killed and dumped in bushes, and others who were murdered in a hail of bullets.

Nombuso Sibisi, the chairperson of Women of Mtwalume said it was important to hold the prayer during the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children Campaign.
She said the prayer was a huge success despite it being held on a rainy day and many community members could not attend, however the purpose of the prayer was served.

“This year our prayer was a success and to remember that our community has suffered a lot with so many killings, we wanted to ask God to spare our lives. We are hoping to make this prayer an annual one, maybe then, this bloodshed will end,” said Sibisi.
