Motorist ‘hit with brick’ on N2 near Albersville [GRAPHIC PICS]

According to conversations on various WhatsApp groups, the motorist was also allegedly hit in the face with a brick.

A man (60) was parked and seated in his vehicle on the N2 freeway under the bridge in Albersville when he was robbed and assaulted by two men.

Police spokesman Captain Adam Francis confirmed the incident happened at about 6:00 today.

“The men pointed a knife at him before fleeing with cash and cellphones,” he said.

According to conversations on various WhatsApp groups, the motorist was also allegedly hit in the face with a brick.

He sustained serious facial injuries as a result of the attack and was rushed to hospital by Emergency Medical Response Services (EMRS) personnel.

Basil Lanka of Lazer 911 said a call came through to Lazer control room requesting them to check on a vehicle under the ‘MA Raju’ bridge on the N2.

Members from Lazer 911 Reaction checked and found a man who was injured and robbed.

A case of robbery has been opened for investigation at SAPS Port Shepstone.
