New physician joins Margate hospital

Dr Sibusiso Ndaba is a compassionate clinician with over 14 years of experience.

Dr Sibusiso Ndaba, who was born and bred in Hammarsdale, just outside Durban, is the new specialist physician at Netcare Margate Hospital.

Ndaba was appointed at the beginning of October and said he has received a warm welcome at the hospital.

“Everyone here is friendly, from management, my colleagues, staff and the patients. I want to be at a place where I can make a difference and I feel it’s here.”

He is a highly skilled and compassionate clinician with over 14 years of experience.
Ndaba qualified at Medunsa (now known as Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University) with a Bachelor of Science in 2003, majoring in Psychology and Zoology.

He then obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBCHB) at UKZN in 2008.
He also holds a national diploma in Occupational Health from UKZN.

Ndaba said medical science has evolved over the years and that it is no longer straight forward.
He has worked in both the public and private sectors.

“In the government sector, help is not as quick. For example, you have to jump through a lot of hoops to get a CT scan for a patient. So, government has a challenge of not having things move as quick as doctors would like them to. In the private sector, equipment and medication are readily available.”

Ndaba has also worked as an occupational doctor on the mines in Richards Bay.

He said he has always liked the South Coast as it’s comparatively calm and has a Cape Town feel about it.
Ndaba said he is all about patient care and making a difference by helping people.
