Monday mayhem: One dead as coast hit by multiple accidents

Wet weather keeps emergency services busy.

A string of accidents have taken place in and around the South Coast today.

One person was declared dead on the scene in a head-on collision on the R56 between Ixopo and Umzimkhulu.

Mike November (Trauma911) confirmed that two others were injured and transported to the nearest hospital.

In a separate accident, two people were treated for minor injuries after the vehicle they were travelling rolled off the road on the N2 south between Kokstad and Harding, near Singisi turnoff.

Then, a vehicle lost control and rolled off the road on the N2 south at Stafford’s Post. The driver was transported to hospital.

November confirmed a single-vehicle accident occurred on the N2 near Hibberdene earlier this morning. Two people had minor injuries, while one person had moderate injuries. All were transported to hospital.

Later, a multiple vehicle collision, including a police vehicle occurred on the N2 south between Kokstad and Harding near the Singisi turnoff. Two people were transported to the nearest hospital.
