UPDATE: Man dies after falling into borehole

The tragic incident unfolded at a private residence in Ramsgate.

Emergency services worked hard in an attempt to save the life of a man who fell into a disused well/borehole at a private residence in Ramsgate yesterday evening.

Glen Preston of Med-Evac said the man was initially alive after he fell into the hole and became trapped, but sadly died, before emergency services could get him out.

“The rain and unstable ground made it an extremely difficult rescue for emergency services,” said Preston.
