Weekend marred by string of accidents [WATCH]

Emergency services have had a busy few days.

An accident involving a taxi and a BMW resulted in 17 people being injured in Shelly Beach yesterday (Sunday).
Glen Preston of Med-Evac Ambulance said three people sustained serious injuries while 14 others had minor injuries.
Preston said the driver of the BMW was entrapped, the door had to be popped and a spreader used to free the person.
“Med-Evac transported the driver to an appropriate medical facility, while additional emergency services attended to those injured on the scene,” he said.
Other accidents that occurred are:
* On the N2, Harding a taxi lost control and rolled during the early hours of Saturday morning. Mike November of Trauma911 ems said paramedics treated multiple injuries on the scene. Two people were taken to hospital.

* Another incident occurred later that day at Oribi Plaza (Port Shepstone) where a pedestrian was injured.
Collision at Banana Beach, R102.
* Yesterday (Sunday), three vehicles were involved in a crash on the R102 at Banana Beach.
Preston said a truck, bakkie and a car were involved in the collision. Two patients were taken to hospital; one with moderate injuries, and the other with minor injuries.
