Temple appoints new priest

The Port Shepstone Tamil Association will observe religious festivals as per the Hindu calendar.

The executive and members of the Port Shepstone Tamil Association have announced the appointment of a new resident priest, Gurukal JS Sharmajee, on January 1.

Sharmajee studied Gurukulam and obtained further qualifications at the University of Jaffna in Sri Lanka. He worked at the Broadcasting Corporation in Sri Lanka as a Hindu religious programme producer and music programme anchor for many years and also participated in foreign pujas.

He was also responsible for live broadcast sets and production of events.

Sharmajee looks forward to serving the community with all their spiritual needs.

The association will continue to offer various services, such as book readings and prayer bookings.

All religious observances will be held at the temple as per the Hindu calendar. For more details, contact Radha Moodley on 071 4835568.
