Newcomers strive to keep Pennington clean

The clean-up team tackled overgrown bushes, filled potholes, trimmed bushes on the roadsides and scraped grass and weeds off the kerbs, the road and bridge.

Tidy Towns Pennington thanks new residents Marietta and Bossie van Rensburg of Salmon Drive, Pennington, who took the initiative to tidy and improve the area in Salmon, Porpoise and Dolphin Drive over the festive season.

Their clean-up team tackled overgrown bushes, filled potholes, trimmed bushes on the roadsides and scraped grass and weeds off the kerbs, the road and bridge – all during the heatwave that week.

They also mowed and trimmed the grass on Monkey Lane, a pathway to the beach.

Cav Deall previously worked a lot in this area, and Viv Sandwith from Tidy Towns said that it was wonderful to see assistance and support from like-minded people.

The Van Rensburgs have offered to continue with this project, and thanks are extended to the Salmon Drive residents who have generously contributed to the fund set up by them.
