Ben Pretorius remains active at 99
He celebrated his milestone birthday with a host of family and friends.
Ben Pretorius from Southport celebrated his 99th birthday, giving hope to anyone dreading old age.
The nonagenarian is active and aware, leads a busy life crammed with all kinds of activities, and still drives.
He celebrated his milestone birthday with a host of family and friends at Larry’s Restaurant on his big day, January 29.
In his younger days, he was a builder and then took up farming.
Pretorius renewed his driver’s licence in July 2024. He drives on his own and delivers avocados and bananas that he grows to local supermarkets.
He enjoys reading, which he is able to do without glasses.
Pretorius has six children, 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
