Model advocates for peace

Tamaryn Price of Umzumbe has been selected as a finalist for one of South Africa's top pageants.

Tamaryn Price (23) is no stranger to the modelling world.

Tamaryn lives in Umzumbe and completed her schooling on the South Coast.

While in high school, she found her passion for modelling and pageantry.

She was a finalist in Miss Grand South Africa in 2022 and a finalist in Miss KZN in 2023, where she walked away as first princess.

She is a regular on the local catwalks and is one of the directors of a local fashion label.

In 2023, she achieved her KZN colours for modelling, as well as her national colours. In 2024, she once again got her KZN colours.

Tamaryn is a brand ambassador for the South African Animal Cancer Association and Princes to Queens finishing school.

It is with great excitement that she has been once again chosen as a finalist for Miss Grand South Africa 2025.

Miss Grand SA is one of the top pageants in South Africa at present, and 73 countries participated at Miss Grand International last year.

The mission of Miss Grand SA and International is to work against war and violence.

Tamaryn wants to work toward that goal by making people understand and accept children and adults with learning problems.

“By helping the general public understand that these children also have a future will help grow a culture of acceptance and co-operation, instead of resentment and ultimately violence. I believe that by starting with the problems in our community, we can lessen the violence overall,” she said.

She has a few events planed in the community to help those that can’t help themselves, both human and furry friends.
