FLOODING: Weather warning as heavy downpour hits South Coast [WATCH]

The coast has had its fair share of flash floods in recent times.

Some heavy rain hit the South Coast, in particular the Port Shepstone area, late on Tuesday night, with flooding in certain areas.

The area near the old Trek garage in Oslo Beach saw water levels rise alarmingly, with some vehicles partially submerged.

In Umtentweni, a fallen tree has blocked the road on the corner of Abingdon and Selvan roads, according to a Lazer 911 report.

Flooding also took place on sections of Commercial Road in the town.

Reports have also come in from Margate, with the Sasol Garage area experiencing flooding.

The low level bridge on the P200 in Izotsha (near Riversmead Poultry Farm) was flooded and at the time of writing unsafe to travel on.

It’s not the first time these areas have experienced rising water during heavy, sudden rain.
