Free, fun walk in Tweni

Saturday mornings will be something to look forward to.

Tweni resident, Hayley Anderson (32), has launched The Local Loop: Vibe and Stride.

The Local Loop is something Hayley came up with as a free, fun, healthy way to get the community out and about and kick the weekend off the right way.

“With the Mzimkulu River bridge closed and all the usual walking spots suddenly feeling like cross-country missions, I thought…why not start our own thing?” she said.

The Local Loop is for everyone: young, old, stroller-pushers, dog walkers, and coffee-in-hand wanderers.

It’s about starting the weekend with fresh air, friendly faces, and a feel-good vibe.

Because honestly, Hayley believes the community deserves a little more connection, movement, and endorphins.

The first 5km, or so, walk/run in Tweni kicks off this Saturday at 09:00. Meet at the cricket field at the Port Shepstone Country Club.

Hayley said the walk will be held every Saturday.

“No pressure, no competition, just movement, smiles, and good vibes. Music will be at the start and finish to get those happy feet moving.”

Pets welcome: leashed dogs and brave cats.

Hayley said this will be a chance to support local businesses along the route and make new memories with your community.

She thanked the Lazer 911 team (for keeping everyone safe) and Selvan Chetty (for sorting out the logistics) for helping make this happen.

So, get ready to start up your NPS 10 toes, connect with your neighbours, and join in on the best way to kick off your weekend.

Let’s make Saturday mornings a thing to look forward to!
