A chapter is dedicated to the history of indentured Indians in Port Shepstone.

The book also captures the impact of the passing of Isilo Shaka Zulu through the Umzumbe area on his campaigns.

The book also captures some fascinating detail relating to the Port Shepstone harbour and ship movements as well as the Port Shepstone railway station.
The section on mission stations captures the work and impact of missionaries on local communities as does the reflection on development of education on the South Coast.
