Golf day raises much-needed funds for Keep Scottburgh Beautiful projects
Sponsors, donors and players are thanked for supporting the event.
The second annual Keep Scottburgh Beautiful golf day was held at the Scottburgh Golf Club recently. Although rain threatened early on, it held off and the day turned out to be overcast and calm – perfect golfing weather.
Numerous sponsors had interesting displays and events at the holes that they manned which created a fun atmosphere and a great day was enjoyed by all.
The event was well supported by sponsors, donors and players which made it possible for every one of the 60 players to go home with a prize, and the significant amount raised from this golf day will greatly assist the various projects that are currently being undertaken (visit the Keep Scottburgh Beautiful social media pages).
The organisation extends its sincere appreciation to all the sponsors, donors and players that supported the event.
Prizes were awarded for closest to the pin on all the par 3 holes, male and female longest drive and there was an opportunity to win R10 000 for a hole-in-one on the 10th hole (which wasn’t won). In addition, a sponsored water tank was placed on the 15th fairway with the drive ending closest to the tank taking home the prize (Julia van Zyl was the winner).
Ultimately the winning team, which each took home a beautiful golf bag, comprised of Dirk Kriel, Vincent de Beer, Myles Poole and Duane Deponselle.
The Scottburgh Golf Club team went out of their way to support the day which was highly appreciated and Keep Scottburgh Beautiful looks forward to holding its next golf day at the same venue next year.
