RESCUE CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Alert lifeguards prevent drowning at Scottburgh beach

While putting together his daily beach report, Cliff Bamber managed to record the lifeguards in action.

A video of a near drowning incident at Scottburgh main beach is being shared widely online, with the TikTok poster Cliff Bamber receiving well over half a million views for his recording to date.

Bamber, who posts daily Scottburgh beach reports on WhatsApp groups and Instagram, had his camera recording at the right place at the right time when the near drowning occurred on Boxing Day.

He perfectly captured the swift actions from the local Scottburgh lifeguards who aided the near drowning victim in no time at all.

The video was shared on local community groups and Bamber’s other social media accounts which included his TikTok (@cliffbamber).

He mentioned that this was only the second video he ever posted on his TikTok account, and by Tuesday morning (December 30), his views increased to 622 000.

Social media users have praised the lifeguards for being so alert and preventing the drowning statistics from increasing this festive season.

Many others also took the time to praise Bamber for his cameraman skills and exceptional commentary.
