Join NSRI Rocky Bay as a volunteer

If you live between Umkomaas and Mtwalume, you can apply.

Are you looking for a life-changing experience and being part of something meaningful? Do you want to learn maritime lifesaving skills, and live between Umkomaas and Mtwalume? If yes, then this opportunity is for you!

The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) Station 39 Rocky Bay is actively recruiting volunteers who are committed to training and keen to learn everything to know about saving lives on South African waters.

Positions available are for sea going crew (ages 18-50), junior crew (ages 17-18), shore controllers (ages 40+) and coast watchers (ages 40+).

If you are ready to join the sea rescue family, visit the Rocky Bay rescue base this Sunday at 08:00.

Meet the crew, enjoy an induction presentation with an exciting opportunity of joining the volunteer crew in their rigorous training schedule and experience the excitement of a high speed rescue vessel.

For recruits wishing to attend and join as sea crew, don’t forget to bring your towel and costume.
