OPINION: Oh dear, potholes again

If baby potholes (cupholes) are sealed as they appear, they will not grow into potholes.

What are baby potholes called? Let’s call them cupholes. If left untreated, they grow into potholes.

The photo shows a cuphole, between potholes being repaired on North Drive, Margate.

All the potholes have now been reworked into partially filled ‘holes with corners’. Several are over a square metre.

If cupholes are sealed as they appear (perhaps with liquid tar), they will not grow into potholes.

If you can’t see the cuphole in the photo, that reinforces my point.

Some potholes may start as cracks. Again, the same idea applies: seal the cracks when they appear.

Am I being too simple? Is there something I’m missing?
