Walk and Unwind, a Wednesday must at Uvongo River

The walks are free to join and open to all, with dogs on leads welcome.

A relaxed and refreshing Walk and Unwind proved a hit with walkers enjoying a gentle meander along the Uvongo River despite humid conditions.

A light breeze made all the difference, keeping the walk comfortable and adding to the calm, easy pace that has become a hallmark of the monthly outing.

Walkers enjoy sundowners under the trees.

Hosted by the Ivungu River Conservancy, it was especially rewarding to welcome new walkers.

These monthly wanders are fast becoming a favourite on the local calendar, offering residents a chance to slow down, connect with nature and enjoy good company in a relaxed setting.

Fresh air for Barbara Meyer and Paddy Norman.

Those who missed this month’s walk need not worry – the next Walk and Unwind takes place on Wednesday, February 25 at 16:00, with the event held on the last Wednesday of every month. Meet at the Uvongo Tennis Courts, off Edward Avenue.

The walks are free to join and open to all, with dogs on leads welcome. Everyone is also invited to stay on afterwards to enjoy a cold drink and light nibbles under the trees at the picnic site, rounding off the day on a laid-back note.
