Ramsgate Ramble fundraiser to celebrate history and heritage
In addition to the walk, a special fundraising auction will take place featuring a driftwood fisherman sculpture created by artist, Gérard de Jong.
Residents and visitors are invited to lace up their walking shoes for the Ramsgate – It’s History Shared, ramble fundraiser this Sunday (1st).
Hosted by Exploring South Coast, the event will run from 08:30 to 12:00 and features a scenic 5km return meander along the ramble.
Walkers will have the opportunity to explore some of Ramsgate’s hidden gems while supporting a local initiative.
Highlights along the route include the resonant circle, natural rock pools, and a glimpse into the area’s rich history and fascinating architecture.
The ramble is designed to combine light exercise, storytelling and appreciation of the village’s natural beauty.
The morning will also include a 45-minute Tai Chi session, adding a wellness element to the experience.
In addition to the walk, a special fundraising auction will take place featuring a driftwood fisherman sculpture created by artist, Gérard de Jong.
Bidding is being hosted online via the Exploring South Coast Facebook page, with the auction closing on March 7 at 17:00.
The highest bidder will collect the artwork in Ramsgate.
Entrants in the ramble will also stand a chance to win a small sculpture in a lucky draw, along with additional spot prizes.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will support local community initiatives linked to Exploring South Coast.
