Rock painting in aid of South Coast Hospice spreads love

The colourful hand-painted rocks helped raise awareness and much-needed funds for the non-profit organisation.

Good things happen when people lift each other up, and that’s exactly what transpired when a group of locals, came together and spread love with creative rock painting, a fundraiser for South Coast Hospice, at Larry’s Family Restaurant in Uvongo recently.

Locals discovered fun and creative Valentine’s Day rock painting ideas and created perfect gifts or decorations. The colourful hand-painted rocks helped raise awareness and much-needed funds for South Coast Hospice, while offering a fun, relaxed activity for all ages.

Deséré Bouillon, founder of KZN Rocks, said R1100 was raised and bags of cleaning material were donated to hospice. “Rockstars were invited to pay R50 and painted some rocks which will be handed to hospice patients and clients. You never know where your rocks may end up and the power of a simple activity is amazing. We hope it brings a smile and comfort to them,” said Deséré.

She thanked everyone for taking part and supporting the non-profit organisation which is committed to serving the community.
