New station commander at Port Edward Saps

With more than 32 years of service in Saps, Dlamini brings a wealth of experience to Port Edward.

Saps Port Edward has welcomed a new station commander.

Lieutenant Colonel Themba Jerome Dlamini has taken up the reins and is looking forward to engaging with local communities to find effective ways to combat and prevent crime.

He previously served as a captain at Saps Hibberdene, where he was the Visible Policing (Vispol) commander.

With more than 32 years of service in Saps, Dlamini brings a wealth of experience, having steadily progressed through the ranks over the years.

His achievements include several long service medals, as well as a Certificate of Commendation awarded in 2017 by the national commissioner for exceptional work.

Dlamini has completed a range of training programmes, including sector policing, tactical policing and suicide prevention, along with regular shooting competency assessments – all of which equip him for his new role.

He is eager to work closely with all members under his command and envisions improved outcomes for Port Edward through hard work and continued commitment to keeping crime levels low.
