Mthatha students pop in for visit at Herald offices
The visit helped the students gain some exposure on how the business world operates, with a particular focus on media.
Students studying public relations at King Sabata Dalindyebo TVET College visited the South Coast Herald offices last week.
They travelled six and a bit hours from Mthatha, with the trip forming part of an excursion that also included a stay at Umthunzi Hotel and Conference in Umtentweni. This was followed by a visit to Mzamba Village near the Wild Coast Sun, plus some other fun stops along the way.
Malibongwe Qotoyi, a lecturer at the KSD TVET College (Zimbane campus) and the man responsible for organising the tour, explained that the visit helped the students gain some exposure on how the business world operates, with a particular focus in this instance, to media.
He was assisted by some fellow lecturers, who guided the 70 odd students on the tour.
It was an opportunity for the students to ask questions and gain a better understanding of how things worked in the various departments, from editorial to production and everything else in between.
