UPDATE: Missing Sunwich Port man found safe

After days of uncertainty, Gerard Roets has been found safe.

The search for missing Sunwich Port resident Gerard Roets has come to a positive end after he was found alive.

Gerard (34), who had been reported missing after leaving his home last Thursday and failing to return, has been located and is now receiving the help and support he needs.

His disappearance prompted a missing person enquiry at Saps Southport, while the Saps Search and Rescue team assisted in efforts to locate him.

According to his family, Gerard has been living with mental health challenges, raising concerns for his safety after he went missing.

His family has expressed their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who assisted in the search, shared information, and kept Gerard in their thoughts.
