Final voter registration this weekend

Young people and first-time voters are urged to register.

Final voter registration for the local government elections on November 4 takes place this Saturday and Sunday, August 1 and 2.

The Independent Electoral Commission of South Africa encourages all eligible voters to go out in their numbers to register to vote.

Young people and first-time voters are also urged to register.

IEC regional manager Zolile KaSiphiwo said it’s all systems go and appeals to municipal stakeholders to have all hands on deck for a smooth process.

“We are ready, our staff have been trained and materials have arrived and will be delivered to the voting districts on time. We open at 08:00 and close at 17:00.”
