PS Senior Primary’s maths boffins shine
Lizalise Chagi and Sonali Paramunsee, who represented Grade 6 were placed first and second respectively in the district.
Ten learners of Port Shepstone Senior Primary represented the Ogwini Circuit at the Ugu District mental maths competition last Thursday.
Learners performed exceptionally well at the highly contested competition. Well done to Mikyle Naidu who took third position in Grade 5 in the Ugu District.
Congratulations to Lizalise Chagi and Sonali Paramunsee, who represented Grade 6, and were placed first and second respectively in the district.
The school held a successful inter-house athletics day recently. Barracuda house emerged as the overall winner, followed by Garrick house in second place.
Kuthula Ngcobo was awarded the junior victrix ludorum, while Nsikayezwe Ngesi and Wandisa Hlophe shared the junior victor ludorum.
The senior victrix ludorum was awarded to Washe Mhonda. The tough competition, once again led to a tie, which resulted in Unakho Mjoli and Siphamandla Maliza sharing the senior victor ludorum.
Two learners set new records, Bandile Thabede broke the boys U14; 100m and 200m events, and Siphamandla Maliza broke the boys U14; 1200m record.
The annual inter-school athletics competition was held at Southcity Christian School last Saturday. PSSP took 11 first place positions and 10 second place positions. Internal record breaker, Bandile Thabede, once again featured at the inter-school event, breaking the U14 boys 100m and 200m races, as well as the boys U14 long jump event. Congratulations to all winners.
