Emergency services visit Margate Primary

The Eco Club also made a trip to the beach during the week.

What a busy week Margate Primary had last week.

Grade 1s had fun with numbers on International Mathematics Day and, later in the week, the foundation phase were treated to a visit by Kwazulu Private Ambulance. There was great anticipation as the service cars and ambulance drove onto the field with sirens blaring and lights flashing.

The children were shown what to do in an emergency if there were serious injuries and also how to stabilise and splint a suspected broken arm. Tae Davids and Alakhe Mpurwana were the willing volunteers.

Teacher Martha Boshoff, helped by Aphiwe Nkosiyapantsi, took her Eco Club members to the beach to investigate life on the rocky shore last Saturday.

Saneliso Mbambo was the organiser and he is thanked for sharing his knowledge and expertise in a fun way. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and learned a lot but were horrified by the amount of plastic and litter found around the shoreline.
