Jam-packed sports week for Izotsha

Learners are currently busy with exams.

For Izotsha Primary, it has been another busy week with various sports being played against Creston, Port Edward and Southcity, as well as a Winter Sports Day hosted by Suid-Natal last Saturday.

The U13A rugby boys played with dedication, passion, teamwork, sportsmanship and resilience, beating Southcity 14-0 and losing 14-5 to Port Edward.

The U11 girls played hockey against Port Edward, winning their match convincingly. They played well as a team, displaying very good passing skills.

The U13 hockey boys lost 0-3 to Port Edward. Practices are paying off as there has been a great improvement in their game.

The U11A hockey boys won their first match against Creston B, drew against Margate A and lost against Creston A.

The Winter Sports Day was a fun-filled, competitive day where learners displayed sportsmanship, good manners, good behaviour and determination.

The U13 rugby boys played five matches where they dominated, beating Penzance, Creston, Suid-Natal B, Umkomaas and Pennington.

The U11A hockey girls won four out of their five games and drew one.

The U13 netball girls did not win any of their matches but were still able to hold their own despite a number of injuries.

The U11A rugby team won two matches and lost one.

The ‘Gogo Care’ community outreach programme, run by Tamlyn Henderson, has been well supported by the teachers, learners and their parents. Thanks to all who donated toiletries, socks and goodies.

Alison Minnaar and her team from Khula attended assembly where the ‘Gogo Care’ parcels were handed over.

The Intermediate and Senior phases are currently preparing for their upcoming exams.
