Izotsha Primary’s netball and hockey players shine

Kaylee du Plessis has been selected for the U13A KZN netball team.

World Book Day was celebrated at Izotsha Primary recently.

Senior classes joined with junior classes and were divided into pairs in order to read to one another. It was wonderful to witness the love, care and kindness that went into this among the learners.

Learners and staff dressed up as their favourite book character, as part of an “Izotsha Teachers Who Care” fundraiser and as an initiative to promote reading.

Sport was played against Creston. The results were as follows:
Netball: Izotsha U13A vs Creston U13B: Izotsha won 16-0, Izotsha U13A vs Creston U13A: Izotsha won 5-1. Izotsha U13B vs Creston U13B: Izotsha won 20-4 and 4-3, Izotsha U13A vs Creston U13A: Izotsha won 16-2. The girls played with dominance and maturity.

Hockey: U11 boys C team played against Creston U11B team. Izotsha lost 4-1. The boys “warmed up” in the second half of the game. The U13A and B boys teams both drew 0-0 against the respective U13 Creston teams. Both the Izotsha teams played with grit and determination and persevered until the end despite there being no score. The U13B girls team won 1-0 and the A team won 2-0. Both teams played well.

Rugby: The U13A team put in a strong performance. They displayed a high level of skill with excellent team play. The Izotsha team lost 21-7. Ben Francis scored an excellent try after a successful run and Sabelo Sithole made a successful conversion.

The school is exceptionally proud of Kaylee du Plessis who has been selected for the U13A KZN netball team.
