‘Leave our stop street alone’

Our beloved cat was killed by the driver of a white Toyota Corolla.

DEAR Editor,-

This letter is to all people, residents and motorists using Palm Road, Caro Avenue and Benjamin Drive in Southport.

The stop street comes about as a result of a continual campaign to protect our family and visitors from speeding motorists who use Benjamin Drive.

Our beloved cat was killed by the driver of a white Toyota Corolla. We are unable to reverse out of our driveway without someone having to stand as a lookout to ensure we are not run into or run over.

This has been a serious problem for us, and we say to all those people who say it is stupid, it is serious for us.

Any attempt to paint it out or remove it will be reported to the SAPS and HCM who have gone to a lot of trouble and expense to keep our family safe.

If they have any problems they can contact me directly (039 6950421), or ward councillor Tap Kruger, or the HCM’s municipal manager Max Mbili.

Many thanks for your cooperation, especially to the residents and motorists who use Benjamin Drive in Southport.
