My wife and I are both pensioners and have lived in our current home with our two boxer dogs in Oslo Beach for many years now.
Our neighbours have three pit bull dogs and have made little effort in keeping these animals within the confines of their property. These past couple of months have been extremely frustrating for us because, on a number of occasions, one or more of their dogs has broken through the boundary fence and attacked our dogs. These attacks have resulted in serious injuries to both our dogs and very high vet bills. To date, we have had to take our dogs to the vet three times and the costs are mounting.
We confronted our neighbour on several occasions and they have done very little to try and solve the problem. We have tried to repair the fence on our side, however, the dogs from next door continue to break through the fence, enter our property and attack our dogs. We have already consulted with the SAPS, the Protection Services and even our local DA representative, Ms Carole Potter, and were informed that this is a civil matter and that we have to take legal action. As pensioners we simply cannot afford expensive legal processes.
Our dogs are very dear to us and it breaks our hearts to see the injuries inflicted by the uncontrolled dogs from next door. How can we resolve this matter?
