Make our roads safer

There is a need for serious speed bumps on dangerous roads.

DEAR Editor,-

From the T-junction of Wingate Avenue, Margate, turning right towards Gamalakhe, is an extremely dangerous road. Law enforcement on this road is absolutely non-existent and many people are killed. Drivers are reckless and drive at high speeds way above 60km and no one seems to care.

But still the traffic department insist on sitting in non-dangerous zones, trapping people going over 68km/h. They make a lot of money out of these safer areas, but what about the lives lost on the back roads to Gamalakhe and surrounding areas.

Taxis are allowed to do as they please and get away with murder, actually. There need to be hectic – serious brake-stopping speed humps, put on these roads urgently.
