Finding a job is expensive

Companies offering employment should consider the costs involved for unemployed people to fax documents.

DEAR Editor,-

This is for employers who only consider faxed CVs. I wonder when last they had to pay to fax documents.

Most job seekers haven’t got access to fax machines and cannot pay the exorbitant faxing prices people charge per page. Sometimes you need to send up to four or five pages. This especially applies to 086 numbers and most companies’ fax numbers start with 086. Or are they doing this so that only certain people can apply?

I am pretty sure if companies have fax machines, they will also have computers with internet and email facilities, so why can’t they give job seekers the choice – fax or email?

And why do companies request to have CVs sent via email (online), only to inform applicants later that it must be sent using the 086 fax number? Why advertise on the internet then?

Most people have cell phones nowadays, but some still have cell phones with limited email and internet facilities. So please stop being so full of your own importance and think of the little people out there who are trying to find a job to make a living.

Again I ask you, how many people out there looking for jobs have access to fax machines and who of these can afford to pay the people who do?
